A great summer activity that is both social and competitive.
Walnut Creek's Junior Swim Team, the Whitecaps, is open to any interested child that is able to swim the length of the pool. Whatever level the swimmer is: beginner, intermediate or experienced, the swim professional and lifeguard staff will work with him or her to improve skills and techniques.
The Whitecaps Swim Team
The Whitecaps compete in Inter-Club league meets through June and July, finishing with a league championship. Swim practices help to improve the swimmer’s abilities while the meets give them the opportunity to show their developing skills. Team spirit is also boosted by dances and parties throughout the season.
Walnut Creek's seasoned Swim Coach / Pool Manager, Kris Goodrich, and her swim staff run the swim team, provide swim instruction, and ensure the safety of the swimmers.
Classes are available for Preschool and Elementary levels.
3-5 year olds: Guppy and Minnow (must be potty trained)
Elementary Levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
JUNIOR ADVANTAGE PROGRAM
Swimming is also introduced in the Junior Advantage program. Children between the ages of four and nine have the opportunity to learn about golf, swimming and tennis in this program that consists of four 3-hour sessions. Junior Advantage is available for all membership classifications.
